Home Instead provides a variety of care services to older adults in their homes.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a background with training and staff evaluation experience.
- Serve as a trainer for new and current caregivers, conduct new Caregiver orientation, provide skills refreshers sessions and coach Caregivers in a one-on-one situation. Note: you must be willing conduct training on Saturday’s once per month and occasionally into the early evening.
- Effectively communicate with staff and Caregivers in writing and over the phone
- Be responsible for applicant vetting, post hire engagement, Caregiver performance evaluations and in-field staff evaluation.
- Be willing to work at the location and hours necessary to help them succeed in this position by working in our Shawnee County (Topeka) Office and travelling to our Douglas County (Lawrence) Office 1-2 days per week.
- Be willing to be flexible by providing training once per month on Saturdays and occasionally in the evening.
- Have three (3) plus years of experience in the Healthcare field. C.N.A. or Home Health Aide certification(s) helpful.
- Take initiative: Don’t wait to be told. Step up, handle challenges, and suggest solutions instead of just pointing out problems.
- Be able to plan and finish small projects, set goals, keep track of progress, and get assignments and projects done on time.
- Be open to taking on new tasks, learning new parts of the job, and cross-training so you can grow into new responsibilities.
- Be able to learn and improve systems (i.e: Pick up new computer programs or office systems quickly), write down how things are done, and look for ways to make the work easier and better.
- Handle confidential information carefully, follow all policies, and pay close attention to detail so everything is accurate and compliant.
Pay: Starts at $19 to $22.00 per hour based on experience.
Job Requirements
- Must have a reliable vehicle, possess a valid driver’s license, and possess valid auto insurance and have at least three years of driving history required
- Be willing to participate in criminal background checks, drug screening, including marijuana required for employees.
- Education: High school or equivalent education or college or technical college helpful.
